Your path to professional success as a nursing or healthcare professional in Germany

In our preparatory course for the knowledge test for nursing and healthcare professions, you will be prepared for the theoretical content of the recognition test. The course also teaches job-specific language skills, knowledge of the German healthcare system and the implementation of nursing standards based on the current requirements of the Nursing Professions Act (§ 40 PflBG).

Our course structure - practical and efficient

Our course is divided into six coordinated modules, all of which are based on the framework curriculum for the adaptation course according to § 40 PflBG in preparation for recognition as a nursing specialist in North Rhine-Westphalia (RaLeA-NW).

  • Block 1: Nursing & Health Sciences

    This block teaches the essential theoretical and practical basics of nursing and health sciences. Contents include nursing techniques such as injections, catheter management and wound care in accordance with current nursing standards. In addition, basic scientific knowledge in cytology, chemistry and physics is taught, which is essential for understanding physiological processes. Pathology covers the most common diseases and their nursing and medical treatment. In addition, ethical issues, demographic developments and relevant care laws and principles of the social market economy are covered.

  • Block 2: Outpatient care

    This block deals with the specific requirements of outpatient care. Participants learn prophylactic measures to avoid complications and the correct use of medication in accordance with a doctor's prescription. Special emphasis is placed on emergency situations in the home environment and coordination with medical and therapeutic specialists. The aim is to ensure professional and safe care for patients in the home care setting.

  • Block 3: Surgery

    This block provides in-depth knowledge of surgical care. In addition to the perioperative basics, measures for wound care, handling catheters and drains as well as postoperative pain and infection management are covered. Intensive care in surgery is also covered, including the monitoring of vital parameters, special ventilation techniques and interdisciplinary cooperation in the operating and intensive care areas.

  • Block 4: Internal medicine

    The focus here is on nursing measures for internal diseases. Participants learn how to care for diseases of the digestive tract, respiratory organs and cardiovascular system as well as how to care for patients with metabolic and infectious diseases. Special emphasis is placed on recognizing emergency situations and interdisciplinary cooperation with medical and therapeutic specialists.

  • Block 5: Psychiatry

    This block provides basic knowledge in psychiatric nursing. Contents include the care and support of patients with mental illnesses, methods of crisis intervention and the professional handling of emergencies in psychiatry. It also covers communication techniques for dealing with mentally ill people as well as preventative and rehabilitative measures to promote the self-determination and quality of life of those affected.

  • Block 6: Exam training

    In the exam training course, participants are specifically prepared for the knowledge test for nursing and healthcare professions. Exam-relevant content is repeated and practical case simulations are carried out. Another focus is the intensive German language course at B2 level (telc) in order to master the language requirements in nursing practice and examinations.

DURATION OF MEASURES AND FURTHER INFORMATION:

Target group: Nursing and healthcare professionals from abroad who are in the process of having their qualifications acquired abroad recognized in order to obtain equivalence in the respective reference profession in Germany.

Duration: 440 teaching units (TU), 15 weeks, ongoing entry possible

The content of the course is taught as an interactive online course.

The costs of the course are covered 100% by the employment agency or job center.
